Properly caring for your newly reglazed tub is crucial to ensure it lasts for many more years. Improper care can cause issues with the product and lead to peeling. Failure to properly care for your tub will void your warranty.
Below, we will discuss how you can ensure you take the right steps to keep your reglazed tub sparkling and in the best condition. If you have any questions about a specific cleaning product or how to clean your tub, do not hesitate to reach out to our team.
It is recommended that you do NOT use a bathmat in your newly reglazed tub to help preserve the beauty of the finish. However, if you do decide that you want to use a bathmat, be sure you are proactive and that you remove the mat and dry underneath it after each use.
We highly recommend that you do NOT use a bathmat within the first week of your tub being reglazed. We also recommend that you opt for our anti-slip coating over a bathmat.
We do NOT recommend the use of bleach in your newly reglazed tub, as it can cause dulling of the finish over time. With that said, our reglazing product is bleach-resistant, so bleach or bleach products can be used, but we highly advise you to avoid them.
You can use drain cleaner, but it is important that you are very careful with it. Drain cleaner can ruin the surface of your tub, so if you do decide to use it, make sure you do NOT spill it on the surface of the tub. If you do spill it on the surface, clean it up immediately.
Drying and curing time takes anywhere between 24 to 48 hours for most surfaces. AVOID using your reglazed fixtures during that time.
You can use a soft sponge that does NOT have a rough or scrubbing surface on it. You can also use a clean microfiber cloth to clean your tub and fixtures.
It is important to avoid abrasive sponges and cloths as they can scratch and damage the surface of your reglazed tub or fixture.
You want to make sure you are cleaning your reglazed tub at least once a week.
NOTE:If your tub has just been reglazed, you want to wait one full week AFTER the tub has been refinished to clean it for the first time.
Amazing Tubs Reglaze recommends that you use non-abrasive and non-harsh chemicals to clean your tub. One product that we recommend is Lysol 4-in-1 all-purpose cleaner. This cleaning agent works well on reglazed surfaces. Should you have a buildup of oils or soap in your tub, you can use regular 409 cleaner.
Other cleaning products we recommend include Simple Green, Mr. Clean, Fantastic, and Scrubbing Bubbles.
Yes. You can take a bath in your tub. It is vital that you make sure to drain the tub thoroughly once you are done and do not allow water to sit in the tub for a prolonged amount of time. Once the tub is finished draining, you will want to dry it out.
